The course will be taught by Ibrahim Othman, who graduated from the University of Damascus having studied Arabic and Islamic studies, and has a Masters in applied linguistics from University of London (Birkbeck). Ibrahim has several years’ experience of teaching Arabic at a variety of levels, both in his native Syria and in the UK with large City firms.  Each course costs £150 and your place will be confirmed once payment is complete. Levantine Spoken Arabic Beginners Module 1 aims to provide students with basic communicative skills through a variety of everyday settings and enable participants to introduce themselves and to conduct short conversations.

The classes are dynamic and interactive with an emphasis on spoken communication and interaction. This is achieved through pair and group work, simulations and role-plays, and it is supported by systematic work on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.

How will I be taught? The course will be taught using English transliteration with an introduction to the Arabic alphabet. The teacher will provide all the materials for the course. He will use “Ahla wa Sahla”, a functional course in spoken Arabic.

Entry level: This course is aimed at students who have studied or know a little bit of Levantine Arabic and is suitable for those who are absolute beginners too.

Levantine Arabic Beginners 2nd module aims at providing students with communicative opportunities to enable them to conduct short conversations to make bookings, ask and talk about possessions, shop for items and describe them through class activities. It is a continuation from the first module to enable students to converse in a basic everyday situation as well as being introduced to the Arabic alphabet.

When do the courses run?

We run courses three times a year, January – March, April – June and September – November. We also offer Arabic tuition in London throughout the year to individuals and organisations on one to one private tuition or small groups. Get in touch and tailor your course.

Can I book now and pay later?

No, your place on the course will only be confirmed upon receipt of the course fee in full.

How can I sign up for a class?

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept cheques and bank transfers, payment is required to confirm your place on the course, but please check there is availability before processing payment.

What are your refund policy and cancellations?

Our rules on refunds are:

  • 75%  of the course fee will be refunded if you let us know more than 30 days before the course start date.
  • 50% of the course fee will be refunded if you let us know within 10 – 30 days before the course start date.
  • No refund will be given if you let us know fewer than 10 days before the course start date.

In addition, once you have committed to, and paid for, a course, and commenced lessons no refund will be provided,

Do you have a minimum number to run the course?

We do our best for every course to go ahead but Yes, there is a minimum number for the course to be run and if we don't have a sufficient number of participants, the course will be postponed (will not run) to the next set of classes. 

You will be transferred automatically to the next course if we don't have the minimum number of students for the course to be run. We will give you heads up if the course doesn't run and inform as soon as possible.
